1. Data types
Six categories of research artifact: synthetic corpora (seeded forward-model spectra with generating parameters, planted corruptions and split assignments, as columnar arrays and JSON); measured spectra (raw and calibrated Raman acquisitions with instrument identifiers, in native and columnar formats); derived quantities (fitted parameters and stage assignments, JSON and CSV); models and evaluations (trained inversion models with hyperparameters and scores); provenance records (append-only ledger entries with Ed25519 signatures, JSON lines); and documents (findings and preprints in Markdown with SHA-256 digests).
2. Metadata and standards
Every record follows the receipt schema: actor, sequence number, timestamp, content digest, previous chain head and signature. Spectra are documented to the established conventions of the field; file metadata is plain JSON with no proprietary container.
3. Storage and preservation
Artifacts are held in version control and content-addressed storage. Off-site copies use immutable, object-locked storage under an append-only credential with daily, weekly and monthly snapshots. Encrypted offline copies preserve the data independently. A quarterly restoration drill is a release gate.
4. Sharing
Findings are released in the research library with their sources and digests; preprints are deposited in public repositories with DOIs. Synthetic corpora are shared on completion; measured data follow the acquisition agreements and export-control screening. Intended licences: Apache-2.0 for code, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 for data and documents.
5. Access, security and ethics
The programme handles no personal data and involves no human or animal subjects. Restricted materials stay on access-controlled systems and are reported at the cleared level only.
6. Roles
The programme lead manages the ledger, the keys and the release decisions. Partner laboratories sign the acquisition records for the measurements they take.
